About

ABOUT THIS SITE

This is a platform for self-expression, and for the exploration of wide-ranging topics because there are so many interesting things out there that need to be explored. I have set up this site for my own writing but it is also a welcoming page for friends interested in sharing their work.

The inspiration running through this is the “salon”, which was made popular throughout the 16th to the 19th century in Italy and France. The salon was a space for polite and intellectual conversation and the exchange of ideas on disparate topics. I am always reminded of it when friends with various careers meet and discuss eclectic topics. Feeling knowledgeable in a setting where anything and everything is talked about feels incredible.

My hope is that this site will provide readers with useful and interesting knowledge that can lead to a better life or more interesting topics of conversations. Sign up for a monthly newsletter to stay updated!

THE HUMAN BEHIND THE PEN

Hello, Myriam here. I am a writer, editor, and artist hailing from Lebanon, but currently living in the US. I have a BA in Political Science from McGill University and a Master’s in International Relations from the University of Cambridge.

I have worked for one of the Big 4, for government entities, and for publications over the years. This is the first time that I am writing for myself, and I am excited to share this journey with others.

Recent world events have made it exceedingly difficult to keep writing about politics and I have found solace in essays about other interests including Art, Fitness, Literature, and Poetry.

I am a certified Personal Trainer. I studied for this with the goal of helping family, friends, and myself to stay healthy and active. My hope is to share this knowledge with others and to help them on their health journeys.

My interest in Art History stems first and foremost from my love for creating art. I minored in Art History during my undergraduate studies, prompting me to write about some of my favorite artists and art pieces across time periods.

My goal with this site is to explore any topic that strikes my fancy and not to be tied down by a niche.
